The Falcons Community Foundation were pleased to welcome Falcons first team players along to their most successful residential coaching camp to date at Barnard Castle yesterday.

With participants already having enjoyed visits from Falcons Academy Head Coach Mark Laycock on Monday and Leeds Academy head coaches on Tuesday, Wednesday saw 12 Falcons players come along to help out.

First team regulars including Rob Vickers, Gonzalo Tiesi, Tom Catterick and Scott Lawson joined new signings such as Uili Kolo’ofai, Juan Pablo Socino and Mark Irving and Senior Academy players such as Brian Tuilagi, Craig Willis, Glen Young, Dan Temm and David Nelson to run through position-specific drills and question and answer sessions with the youngsters in attendance.

Today Leeds legends Sir Ian McGeechan and John Bentley will be coming to talk to attendees about what it takes to make it in professional rugby before the camp wraps up tomorrow with game day, where participants can put all of their learned skills into practice!

Over 175 have enjoyed seven hours of coaching each day at the Barnard Castle Residential Camp this week from the Falcons Community Foundation’s qualified coaches.
The Community Foundation’s biggest residential coaching camp to date, this year’s Barnard Castle camp sold out more than two months in advance.
