Newcastle Falcons had strong representation in the England Students team on Saturday when they took on French Universities in Coventry.

Hooker Ollie Fletcher (pictured) started in the 48-43 defeat, while summer signings Connor and Callum Hancock packed down at props to form an all-Falcons front row.

Durham University’s Max Pepper started on the wing, with a close-fought contest seeing the English narrowly missing out.

Meanwhile, Newcastle Falcons wing Vereimi Qorowale scored a Twickenham winner in the Army v Navy game at Twickenham on Saturday.
