Falcons stars in Rugby World Cup action

Falcons star Josh Matavesi started at fly-half for Fiji on Wednesday, playing the full 80 minutes and kicking a conversion in their 30-27 loss to Uruguay.
Fiji are next in action on Thursday October 3 when they meet Georgia in a 6.15am UK-time kick-off.
Newcastle prop Logovi’i Mulipola started at loose-head for Samoa in Tuesday’s 34-9 victory over Russia, being replaced just before the hour mark.
Samoa’s next assignment sees them up against Scotland in Kobe on Monday, with the 11.15am UK-time kick-off being shown live in the Tap & Tackle.
Newcastle’s contingent in Japan is completed by Tongan pair Cooper Vuna and Sonatane Takulua, whose team take the field on Saturday against Argentina, kicking off at 5.45am UK time.
There is of course a double bill of rugby at Kingston Park Stadium on Sunday when Newcastle Falcons open their home account against Doncaster Knights at 3pm, preceded by the 12 noon rugby league clash between Newcastle Thunder and Doncaster RLFC.
