Falcons team Up with Royal British Legion
Pins are available from the club shop at Friday’s game against Hartpury, with a suggested donation of £3.
Newcastle Falcons executive director Mick Hogan said: “We have a long association with our armed forces and armed forces charities. Everyone at the club is very proud to be associated with the British Legion and we are sure our supporters will get behind this fantastic fundraising initiative.”
A Royal British Legions spokesperson said: “We are delighted to be working with Newcastle Falcons during this year’s Poppy Appeal and we would urge all Falcons fans to buy a pin during the period of remembrance.
“During the 2019 Poppy Appeal, the Legion is shining a spotlight on the impact our armed forces have on our daily lives in the UK and around the world, because they make so many contributions and sacrifices that the public often don’t see, from keeping our nation safe to spending vast amounts of time away from their loved ones.
“Life in the armed forces comes with unique challenges for those serving and their families, so the Legion is there every step of the way whenever they need us. Buying one of the Newcastle Falcons pins will help us to support the armed forces community, past and present.”
As is now tradition the Poppy Appeal will also be collecting at our Remembrance tribute game against Coventry on Sunday November 17. More details will be announced shortly, but any forces groups wishing to attend the match should contact **Darren.Greco@newcastle-falcons.co.uk** .
