Falcons to face Glasgow away on Friday September 3
The Scotstoun Stadium clash, sponsored by Famous Grouse, is a 7pm kick-off, with ticketing details yet to be confirmed by the Scottish club.
The Falcons will travel to Scotland again the following weekend to face Edinburgh in the first match at their new stadium, with the exact date and time yet to be confirmed by the home club.
Newcastle intend to announce one home friendly in addition to their two trips over the Scottish border, and will reveal details of that in due course.
The trio of pre-season games leads into the first weekend of the Gallagher Premiership, with champions Harlequins travelling to Kingston Park Stadium on Sunday September 19.
Director of rugby Dean Richards said: “Glasgow away provides a great test for us in our first pre-season outing, and should help get the squad to where it needs to be by the time the league season starts.
“With Edinburgh away and a home friendly also to be announced, we will have three good-quality work-outs for the lads.
“As I always say at this time of year it’s about putting things in place rather than focusing on results during pre-season, and with the squad we’ve assembled we’re looking forward to mounting a strong challenge during 2021-22.”
Premiership title winners Mike Brown and Nathan Earle are among the summer additions for Richards’ squad, joined by the Worcester pair Richard Palframan and George Merrick as well as Connacht prop Conor Kenny and ex-Ulster lock Matthew Dalton.
Six players have been promoted from the club’s academy (Marcus Tiffen, Ewan Greenlaw, Ollie Fletcher, Guy Pepper, Louie Johnson and Mark Dormer), forming part of a squad including newly-capped England quartet Jamie Blamire, Adam Radwan, Callum Chick and Trevor Davison.
Season ticket memberships for 2021-22 will go on sale from next week. [**Click here**][1] for details.
