FALCONS TV: Tait looks ahead to Premiership return
Following a five week break for cup action, Gallagher Premiership Rugby returns this evening with Newcastle Falcons making the trip to the capital to face Quins at the Twickenham Stoop
Set to start in the number 14 shirt this weekend, Alex Tait tells Falcons TV how embarking on a five-match unbeaten run since the club’s last Premiership fixture has re-instilled confidence and how he and his team-mates are targeting a rapid ascent of the Gallagher Premiership table.
Speaking pre-match, the club stalwart said: “Friday is a massive game for the club, being back into the Premiership. When you look at the table and we’re at the bottom, we just want to get off that as quick as we can and these next three weeks are a prime time to get back, get stuck in and get back up the table. We’re coming off the back of five pretty good results and unbeaten since our last Premiership game and to get ourselves back on the horse and get some wins has been good for the squad.
“It’s going to be a massive test up front for the boys because if we can stop their big runners on or behind the gain line, it is going to slow the ball down for releasing their dangerous individuals in the back line, but also we need to be looking to get stuck into Quins and making them defend our attack.”
