FALCONS TV – Welsh looks ahead to the Big Night Oot
Jon Welsh says Newcastle Falcons are ready to go for this Friday’s fixture against Bath Rugby as they aim to put on a show for those coming along to the Big Night Oot.
The Scotland international made a welcome return from injury back in October and wasted no time in returning to form and is looking forward to the challenge ahead this weekend.
Speaking to Falcons TV, Welsh said: “Bath, you know the name, they have a massive pack who like to dominate in the set piece and they have got the back to go with it. Like most teams in the league, they are a really good outfit but we have had a really good week at training and we’re ready.”
Looking at the personal battles that lie ahead in the 19:45 kick-off, he added: “For me, it will be scrums and line-outs with the mauling. Bath are really strong with some great players in there when you think of Henry Thomas, Ross Batty and Nathan Catt. These guys are all international quality so it’s going to be really tough, but I’m relishing the challenge and looking forward to it.”
