FALCONS U18s TEAM NEWS
Sunday’s clash promises to be a pulsating spectacle with the Greater Manchester club expected to provide tough opposition. In recent months a string of academy products have been given the chance to shine on the big stage by first team boss Dean Richards, a policy that the club are proud to continue. And in recent weeks the likes of Sean Brown, Zach Kibirige and Tom Penny who all played for the under-18 side last term, have enjoyed some game time in the LV= Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup respectively.
“We’ve got some extremely talented youngsters in the squad and it’s great for them to get exposure in this sort of league against the best players from the North West,” said academy manager Mark Laycock.
“We have no doubt that it will be a very physical encounter, but also one that will test the players capabilities. Ultimately if they want to follow in the footsteps of those guys now playing first team rugby having earned themselves full-time contracts, then this is the environment where you have to step up and be counted,” he added.
The next home game for the Falcons first team is on Friday 27 December against London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership with tickets still available by calling 0871 226 6060 or [click here][1] to purchase online.
