Falcons Under-16s thrive against Scotland
Off the back of strong schools seasons and representative rugby for Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland, the Academy Under-16s saw a 27-man squad playing two games, scoring 10 tries and conceding only one over the course of the two 40-minute matches.
This was their first time playing together since August’s pre-season festivals, head coach Aiden McNulty saying: “Our Under-16s have been developing well over the course of the season and we’re delighted with how they represented themselves against Scotland.
“They have taken a lot of ownership of their strategies and principles, and this triangular festival brought them to life well throughout the day.
“Our next action is on the day of The Big One this Saturday where we face Sale Sharks and Yorkshire Carnegie in another three-team festival where we shall look to build upon their perfromances against Scotland, and ultimately develop as individuals.”
