Falcons v Exeter preview

Tuesday 27 October 2015 Written by: Adam

Newcastle Falcons welcome Exeter Chiefs to Kingston Park on Sunday for the televised Aviva Premiership round three clash, looking to take a first victory of the season.

With a squad including a host of household names, including Jack Nowell, Henry Slade Thomas Waldrom and former Falcons Will Chudley and Geoff Parling, the Chiefs will provide the Falcons with a stern test in the 13:00 kick off.

Having never met prior to the Chiefs promotion to the Aviva Premiership in season 2010/11, the two clubs have quickly grown acquainted, meeting on twelve occasions across the Premiership, the European Challenge Cup and the LV= Cup.

In last season’s encounter at Kingston Park, a second-half surge saw Newcastle Falcons take a 29-24 win from a thrilling game of fast paced rugby in which the lead changed repeatedly.

The Devon outfit looked to be in the driving seat with a seven-point lead around the hour mark, but two tries in as many minutes from Tom Catterick and Noah Cato meant it was the Falcons who struck the decisive blows.

With no points to show from their two Premiership outings to date, Dean Richards side are determined to bounce back against a Chiefs side that travels to the North East third in the league table, following a narrow defeat by Bath on the opening Saturday and a bonus point win over London Irish in round two.

Tickets for the match start from £15 for adult standing and £25 for adult seating and are available to book now by calling 0871 2266060 [clicking here][1] or by visiting the club box office in the East Stand.

Both sides will name their sides this Friday at Noon.
