FALCONS VS ROTHERHAM MATCH DAY INFORMATION

Friday 22 August 2014 Written by: Adam

As the Falcons prepare to face Rotherham Titans in tomorrow’s pre-season fixture, the club is looking forward to welcoming fans back to the Kingston Park stadium.

With a number of changes having taken place at the stadium this summer, Newcastle Falcons wanted to make fans aware of a number of important changes that will be in place for tomorrow’s fixture.

The most noticeable change will be the Falcons new 3G synthetic pitch, which was installed by specialists SIS Pitches over the summer. For this game fans are requested to stay off the new surface before and after the match.

Newcastle Falcons Managing Director Mick Hogan said: “As the pitch has only just been completed fans can’t be allowed on after full time until the rubber-crumb infill has completely settled.

“We are also checking with our insurers and SIS Pitches, the manufacturers about how access to the pitch post-game will work but until these negotiations are complete only players will have access to the pitch.”

Elsewhere around the ground 2014-15 will see Kingston Park become a no smoking stadium in an attempt to enhance the match day experience for families and other non-smoking fans.

Fans are asked only to smoke (including electronic cigarettes) outside of the stadium boundaries although smokers are asked to retain their tickets for inspection on return to the stadium.

For the coming season Newcastle Falcons will begin a new contract with Phoenix Security, meaning that many of the match day stewards and security staff on duty tomorrow will be new to the club and to the stadium. As a consequence the club would ask fans to be patient with stewards before, during and after tomorrow’s match.

For the game against Rotherham Titans, the North Stand Terrace will be closed; anyone with tickets for that area of the ground will be welcome into the South Stand Terrace.

Due to a private function, the ground floor East Stand Clubhouse bar will also be closed during tomorrow’s match. For this match only, however, reduced price drinks will be available for Season Ticket Holders before the game in the first floor Hiding Place bar.

Season Tickets for the 2014/15 term have now all been dispatched. If you have not received yours in time for tomorrow’s game please call the Ticket Office 0871 226 6060.

There are also a number of other minor changes to parking areas, signage around the ground and decoration within the bar areas. These changes are ongoing and will not be completed for the tomorrow’s match but will be in place for the Falcons’ Aviva Premiership season opener against London Irish on Sunday 14 September.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game priced at only £10 for adults and £5 for juniors. Get yours [online][1], by calling the club’s 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 or in person from the Kingston Park Club Shop.
