Fans’ forum offers insight into new season
Newcastle Falcons gave supporters a look under the bonnet going into the new season at a fascinating and well-attended season ticket holders’ talk-in.
A packed West Stand function suite heard from director of rugby Steve Diamond, senior coach Alan Dickens and a collection of players.
Offering great access and insight, Diamond gave supporters a presentation on the club’s playing philosophy including targets for the season and tactical details, sharing the same analysis briefing he had given to the players earlier in the day before inviting questions from the floor.
Dickens followed up with a tactical review of last weekend’s pre-season thriller at Sale Sharks, highlighting areas where the team are focusing their attention and how they intend to exploit opportunities.
A trio of new players took to the stage in a Q&A session, with Alex Hearle, Cameron Neild and Sammy Arnold offering an insight into why they joined the club and what they hope to add to the group.
Supporters also enjoyed the chance to get their hands on the Falcons’ new VX3 playing kit as well as the opportunity to talk to the ticketing team about the new digital season tickets.
Feedback on the night was excellent regarding the level of openness and optimism with which the club are going into the new season, and all at Newcastle Falcons would like to thank everyone who attended.
