FIELDEN SIGNS FOR ENGLAND SEVENS
The 27-year-old joined the Falcons from Bedford in the summer of 2010 and has made 47 appearances for the North East club, scoring 20 tries.
Fielden has already proved his worth in the sevens game, helping the Falcons lift the 2011 J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s trophy at the Twickenham Stoop.
Crossing the whitewash five times in the Premiership Rugby 7s finals, the Falcons 2010-11 top try scorer scooped the player-of-the-tournament award.
“This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to the challenge of testing myself on the international stage,” Fielden told **Falcons TV**.
He added: “The club [Newcastle] is in a really good shape now, and there is a management structure in place that will take this club from strength to strength.”
Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards said: “Luke is a talented winger who will no doubt add a lot to the England Sevens side.
“I wish him well in his new venture on the sevens circuit.”
