Fletcher and Richards honoured by Sport Newcastle
Held at Newcastle Civic Centre, the 20-year-old was among the promising young sportspeople from around the region being recognised for their achievements.
The past year has seen Fletcher making his first team debut for the Falcons, scoring his first try for the club and also representing England Under-20s.
The multi-skilled hooker, who attended Newcastle School for Boys, is also a talented cricketer, and attended an awards night which also saw former director of rugby Dean Richards recognised.
Richards was presented with the coveted Wilkinson Sword for lifetime achievement, with the England and Lions great spending more than a decade in charge of the Falcons.
