Foundation Get Straight Into 2016
After a busy year filled with activity in, the Falcons Community Foundation are expecting no let up as 2016 gets off to another big start with a first spring term.
The Foundation’s work in schools across the region will extend, Premiership Rugby’s On The Front Foot Programme being run at Primary Schools in Ponteland and Westerhope as well as secondary schools throughout Hartlepool.
The secondary programme, which aims to spread rugby’s core values of respect, teamwork, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship amongst the next generation, will run during school time and as after school outreach sessions targeting those who may be disengaged with more traditional forms of education.
Elsewhere in Hartlepool the Rugby 4 All programme which aims to engage women and girls with the sport, has begun in secondary schools throughout the area, with a similar programme due to begin in North Tyneside very soon.
Over in Cumbria the Aviva Tackling Numbers rugby programme continues in Workington and Cockermouth to help encourage numeracy within schools in the area.
Back at Kingston Park Stadium the Foundation will be running their usual calendar of match day festivals and tournaments, giving junior players the opportunity to experience rugby on the main pitch of an Aviva Premiership stadium.
Meanwhile across the region over 50 community clubs take part in the Club Connections scheme to benefit from close ties with the Falcons, including during the next Player Blitz event, which will take place in early February.
Rounding the term off the Foundation will once again be running their February coaching camps at Penrith, Westoe, Hartlepool and Stockton Rugby Clubs, as well as at the Falcons’ Kingston Park Stadium. For more information on those camps or to book a place click [here][1].
