Fundraising dinner for Gosforth great David Robinson
Robinson was a stalwart of the Gosforth side during the late 1970s and early 1980s, playing in both of their successful John Player Cup finals at Twickenham.
The event on Saturday November 30 is priced at £35 a ticket with a smart-casual dress code, and includes a three-course meal and entertainment. Funds raised will go directly to Robinson whose reduced mobility has meant he is no longer able to work, placing at risk the tenancy of his farm.
Newcastle Falcons and the local rugby community at large are clubbing together with Neil McDowell and a group of Robbo’s Cumbrian friends to help one of our own in his time of need.
In addition to providing much needed assistance to a well-liked club legend, the dinner is another opportunity for former team-mates to meet and reminisce following on from the John Player Cup final 25th anniversary dinner in 2001 and the Gosforth 140th anniversary dinner two years ago.
The Kingston Park venue can seat 400 people and that figure has been set as an ambitious sales target, with a 7pm arrival for a 7.30pm start.
If you are able to come please email **amy.kirsopp@newcastle-falcons.co.uk** or call 0191 214 2835 to purchase your tickets at £35 a head, or alternatively please help us to spread the word and ensure that Robbo receives the vital financial assistance he needs at this difficult time.
