Game on – Falcons v Bedford goes ahead tonight as planned
Newcastle Rugby Ltd are taking daily guidance from the government and the game’s governing bodies regarding precautions around coronavirus.
At present extra measures have been implemented to minimise the risk to players, staff and supporters.
These include:
* Encouraging all staff and players to follow current NHS guidelines.
* Distributing posters and leaflets to reinforce the messaging on how to avoid catching and spreading the virus.
* Implementing additional environmental hygiene control measures at the stadium. This includes placing anti-bacterial hand sanitisers and wipes around the premises.
* Restricting dressing room, tunnel and pitch-side access to the first team and those who directly support them. We ask that fans do not shake hands, high five etc or have bodily contact with players.
Following the Government’s guidelines yesterday, we do not intend postponing, cancelling or staging any Newcastle Falcons or Newcastle Thunder games behind closed doors at present. If the situation changes, we will communicate this on the club website, social media channels and via press release.
Should any matches be postponed, amended or cancelled, our usual policies will apply. For reference these are as follows;
