With the whole country gripped by Rugby World Cup spirit, this Saturday will see the first opening of Newcastle’s city centre World Cup Fanzone.

Located at Science Central on the old Newcastle Breweries site, just a stone’s throw away from St James’ Park, the Fanzone offers a great place to soak up the tournament atmosphere while watching Rugby World Cup games on the big screen.

The site also includes a variety of entertainment, including a fairground and community 3G pitch as well as live music, food and drink.

Run by Newcastle Falcons in conjunction with Ramside Event Catering, the Fanzone is completely free to enter and will open its gates for the very first time this Saturday.

Fans can head to the site to watch all three games during the day, with Falcons Josh Furno and Giamba Venditti expected to be in action for Italy against Canada at 2.30pm, Alesana Tuilagi’s Samoa facing a wounded South Africa at 4.45pm and the big England vs Wales game from 8pm all shown on the big screen.

Following Saturday’s preview game the Fanzone will once again open its doors to the general public next Friday, 2nd October and stay open until Sunday 11th October.
