Goneva and Wilson win annual players’ awards
Goneva was voted by his squad-mates as players’ player of the season after a stellar campaign which saw the Fijian wing dotting down nine Aviva Premiership tries in 18 games.
Wilson was voted by his fellow players for the attitude of the season award, again in association with Citizen and David Summerfield Jewellers, with both players receiving Citizen watch vouchers for their efforts.
The Cumbrian flanker won the nomination for his outstanding commitment off the field as well as his top-class performances on it, which have made him someone that all players in the club can look up to.
These annual awards are the culmination of monthly prizes in the same two categories, with Newcastle Falcons’ players keen to stress that the success of the team extends well beyond the 23 players who are in the nominated match squad for any given game.
