Green flying high in the Opta stats
The Norfolk native once again leads the Gallagher Premiership for line-outs taken, having won the ball 19 times in the set-piece, three times more than his nearest rival.
Green sits joint second for line-out steals after twice taking the ball from opposition throws, a key feature of last weekend’s 23-20 triumph at Worcester Warriors, a game in which he took a league-wide high of nine line-outs.
Other Falcons featuring near the top end of the opta stats include skipper Will Welch, whose 19 tackles at Worcester was just two less than the table-topper, Bristol’s George Smith. In the season-long chart Welch is positioned fourth in the Premiership, having made 48 tackles in his three run-outs.
Vereniki Goneva sits joint second for offloads despite having only played two of Newcastle’s three games, while full-back Simon Hammersley is fourth in the ‘metres made’ table after chalking up an impressive 247 metres with ball in hand.
Newcastle Falcons’ next home game is on Friday night when Exeter Chiefs are the Gallagher Premiership visitors. Tickets for the 7.45pm kick-off can be booked by [**clicking here**][1].
