Lock Stuart Grimes today becomes the latest in a long line of former Falcons to commit their names to the team sheet for this October’s Legends game.

The game will see a Falcons Legends side take on a Southern Hemisphere XV to mark the arrival of Rugby World Cup 2015 into Newcastle, with all proceeds from the event going to the Falcons Community Foundation.

Grimes made 100 league appearances during his time at the Falcons, including both of the club’s 1990s Cup wins, before moving into the back office and spending a season as Forwards Coach.

Although originally from Aberdeen, the 71-times capped Scotland international stayed in the North East after his retirement from the game.

Grimes joins a host of former Falcons including Rob Andrew, Gary Armstrong, Matt Burke, Carlo Del Fava, Marius Hurter, Tom May, Ollie Phillips, Michael Stephenson, Hugh Vyvyan, Micky Ward, Doddie Weir and Ben Woods in turning out for the game.

Tickets for the Legends game, which takes place on Friday 2nd October, are available to buy now [online][1], in person from the Falcons’ Kingston Park Stadium Box Office or by calling the club’s 24 hour Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060.
