Hear the Thunder at KP this Easter Weekend

Newcastle Falcons may be heading off on the road this weekend but Kingston Park Stadium will still be playing host to live rugby as Newcastle Thunder face Barrow Raiders on Good Friday.

Kicking off at 3pm, Friday’s game will be the first of a Kingstone Press League One campaign which Thunder hope will see them secure promotion into the league above.

However Barrow will pose a big test for the North East club as one of five teams to have dropped down to Thunder’s league during the closed season.

Thunder MD Keith Christie said: “The move to Kingston Park Stadium has been a big one for Newcastle Thunder, and already we’re seeing an increase in ticket sales as a result.

“League and Union may be very different games but Friday’s game offers a great opportunity to come and watch some live rugby at the stadium over the long Bank Holiday weekend and cheer on another local team in a big match.

“Thunder have made some big signings over the closed season and have been impressing a lot of people in the run up to this league opener, and we’re hoping to continue that run of form into the new season.”

Tickets for Friday’s game cost just £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £5 for Under 16s if purchased before 5pm on Thursday, with prices rising to £12, £7.50 or £6 if purchased on the day.
