HITZ students take Twickenham

Falcons Community were delighted to give four HITZ students the opportunity to travel across the country last weekend to watch the Gallagher Premiership Final at Twickenham. Our HITZ students were joined by other Premiership Rugby club’s HITZ participants, and the weekend was a fantastic way to celebrate an end to another successful year for the education and employability programme.

The students started the weekend by visiting London’s iconic landmarks, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, before joining other Premiership Rugby club’s HITZ students for an Aqua Park adventure.

This was followed by heading to Twickenham to take part in a great Dragon’s Den activity. A great activity to bring the young students together utilising their teamworking and problem-solving skills which were developed over the course of the year.

On the day of the final between Saracens and Sale Sharks, the HITZ pupils were able to access all the fun activities at Twickenham Fanzone. One of our HITZ students, Reece, was given the brilliant opportunity to walk down the tunnel to be presented with a signed England Rugby shirt. This was after Reece was recognised for Outstanding Bravery at the Children of Courage Awards event in Newcastle.
