Hogg hoping home comforts continue
Falcons number eight Ally Hogg says he and his team mates have delivered a “sharp” week in training as the team prepare for tomorrow night’s Aviva Premiership clash with Worcester.
Aiming to use home advantage to the full for a seventh time in seven outings, Hogg states that if he and his team mates perform, then they can keep the momentum being generated in the North East.
Hogg said: “It’s gone well, it’s been sharp. The boys were obviously disappointed at the weekend and we have been putting things right that we didn’t do very well against Gloucester.”
Looking towards Friday’s opposition, Hogg says the Warriors pose a variety of threats that the Falcons will have to counter on the evening.
“They have a big set of forwards in the pack and they have a few dangerous backs. They are a good club with a good history. I’ve played them four or five times and it’s been a fairly even split in wins and losses so I think it will be another good game on Friday night.”
“They’ve signed a new nine that gives them a new attacking threat and obviously there is Chris Pennell at fullback who is a dangerous runner if we don’t get our kick chase right.”
“And as I say, the front five is good and their scrum and driving maul are big assets that we will need to nullify.“
