Meanwhile, Newcastle Falcons wing Nathan Greenwood played his second tournament for Great Britain on the HSBC World Sevens Series over the weekend, in the Canadian city of Vancouver.

Having made his debut in Los Angeles the week before, the 19-year-old Tynesider was part of a GB squad which lost the fifth-place play-off 19-5 to New Zealand, having earlier faced Uruguay (won 45-5), Kenya (won 26-12), Fiji (lost 26-15) and France (lost 15-7).
