We are Newcastle Falcons one of the Premiership rugby teams. We are setting our sights on a new, exciting future and are looking for a Commercial Executive who is well organised, versatile, and motivated to join our team.

The Role:

The Commercial Executive will play a vital role in driving revenue and developing strategic partnerships for Newcastle Falcons. This position is focused on maximising commercial opportunities, enhancing the club’s brand visibility, and engaging with fans and stakeholders to build long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to increase revenue streams, including sponsorship, hospitality and stadium branding.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential sponsors and partners.
  • Manage existing commercial partnerships, ensuring contractual obligations are met and delivering value to partners.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns that enhance brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Complete sales and partnership administration duties.

The everyday duties may adapt as the role evolves through the process, but this will be agreed collaboratively.

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Commercial, marketing and operations teams.
  • External: Corporate Sponsors, Local Businesses and Hospitality Clients.

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in a commercial or sales role, preferably within sports, entertainment, or a related sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with strong organizational skills. Comfortable in a team environment and motivated to work independently.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience working within a rugby or sports environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and digital marketing tools.
  • Network of contacts within the sports and business community.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think creatively about commercial opportunities.
  • A degree in sports management, a business subject or any relevant field.
  • Passion for rugby and understanding of the sports industry.
