JOB VACANCY: Conference and events manager
**Hours required:** Permanent contract full time
**Reporting to:** Conference and Events Director
**Based at:** Kingston Park Stadium, Newcastle upon Tyne as well as other locations in and around the region.
**Purpose of the role:**
The team are responsible for all catering, hospitality and events taking place at Kingston Park Stadium, including all matchdays for Newcastle Falcons & Newcastle Thunder. The venue is a busy events space on non-matchdays.
Falcons Events also has a busy offsite business, looking after race days at England’s most scenic racecourse, Hexham. We also provide bars, catering & hospitality at a range of exciting events across the North East including concerts, Belsay International Horse Trials, fan zones, Burgham International Horse trials & charity events.
**What does the role involve?**
As Conference & Events Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of Conference & Events operations at Kingston Park, including providing leadership to the team to ensure targets are met.
**You will also be responsible for:**
– Maintaining excellent levels of customer satisfaction, evaluate feedback with a focus on continuous improvement.
– Be aware of latest trends to introduce & develop both the matchday and events offer.
– Optimise sales, & control costs, identifying areas for action.
– Provide effective leadership to the team to ensure targets are met for both the business & individuals development.
– Ensure effective communication to the team & also inter departmental.
– Manage staff performance issues in line with company procedure.
– Recruit, manage & train the front of house team.
**Essential requirements:**
– Strong knowledge of the events, leisure, service sector
– Record of success in conference & events, including beveragemanagement, especially the ability to deliver profit, control costs & build customer loyalty
– Exceptional communication skills
– Exceptional leadership skills
– Conference & events experience in hospitality, hotel, events centre or similar
– Passion for delivering exceptional standards of service & team development
