In the coming months, Newcastle Falcons will be working with local schools and members of the community to increase rugby participation for children and adults with hearing impairments.

TRY2SIGN is a funded programme through Newcastle Falcons, Premiership Rugby and Comic Relief.

The free five-week deaf awareness and tag rugby programme aims to use rugby as a vehicle to engage young people in understanding barriers deaf people face, as well as introducing them to learning basic sign language.

The programme will be available to school years 3 and 4, finishing with a tag rugby festival at Kingston Park Stadium.

**Schools taking part will receive:**

• 5 x 2 hour sessions (1 hour Sign & Spell, 1 hour Tag Rugby).

• Sign & Spell teacher resource pack.

• Teacher login to an online resource tool.

• Invitation to tag rugby festival at Kingston Park.

We hope you can follow the journey of our exciting new programme promoting deaf awareness and the benefits of rugby. For further information or to register your school for the programme, please contact gavin.beasley@newcastle-falcons.co.uk .
