Join ‘The Cast’ for the European finals
Our volunteer team, known as The Cast, will be based in various positions across the city both before and during the finals weekend.
Volunteers will play a key role in this festival of rugby. We have a variety of roles available throughout the city, and the knowledge and skills of the volunteers will enhance the experience of visitors to Newcastle.
We have opportunities to volunteer on the Trophies Tour that will be take place throughout the North East from March 23 to April 14. The trophies will be visiting a variety of rugby clubs, businesses, schools and partners. These volunteers will be helping people get to see the trophies before the finals weekend, with the aim to see 25,000 participants.
During the finals weekend The Cast will be based in various positions across the city from the Rugby Champions Village on the Quayside, including the Baltic Square Family Zone. They will also be positioned on the walking routes through the city up to St James’ Park and the fan activation area around Strawberry Place. They will help visitors with wayfinding, details of events and activities and all other information a visitor may need.
Cast members receive great training to equip them for their role, a fabulous uniform so they stand out and the opportunity to be part of the greatest weekend in rugby.
Volunteers will be required on a range of shifts over the weekend of May 9-11 and during the Trophies Tour from March 23 to April 14.
Interviews will be held through March, and training dates will be available throughout April.
