In her role she will be responsible for developing and implementing the communications and marketing strategy for Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder, as well as supporting the club’s hospitality function, following renewed demand for conferencing and events at Kingston Park Stadium.

Semore Kurdi, chairman of Newcastle Rugby Limited, said: “As we start to gear up for the new 2021-22 season we’re keen to diversify our offering to ensure we’re appealing to a broad range of visitors, and Kate’s appointment is a key part of that.

“In addition to the match-day fixtures and the available hospitality and sponsorship packages, we also have some exciting plans for our event offering at the stadium. Kate’s appointment will allow us to continue to ensure we’re putting customer experience first, as well as proactively communicating the breadth of what we have going on at the stadium. We’re pleased to welcome her on board.”

Kate brings with her a decade of experience in PR, marketing and events management across a number of industries including hospitality and leisure, construction, pharmaceuticals and fashion.

Commenting on her appointment Kate said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Kingston Park. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on the strong foundations they already have in place and to further increase brand visibility, and ultimately footfall.

“There’s a lot of activity planned at the stadium over the next year. By improving our digital presence for our customers and sponsors, as well as maintaining our offline communications, we hope to make the club, our fixtures and its events as accessible as possible to people of all ages and backgrounds.”
