More than 23,000 tickets sold for The Big One

Saturday 17 March 2018 Written by: Adam

The day starts at 1pm when the fan plaza opens on Strawberry Place, turnstiles opening at 2.30pm ahead of the 3pm kick-off between Newcastle University and Northumbria University.

That is then followed by the main event at 5.30pm when Newcastle Falcons play a vital Aviva Premiership game against Northampton Saints, and sports fans throughout the region have been backing the event in their droves.

A week ahead of The Big One sales are already past 23,000, almost double the Falcons’ previous record home attendance of 11,750 from their 1998 Premiership victory over Bath at Gateshead International Stadium.

Tickets will be available on the day from the St James’ Park box office, but supporters are advised these tickets will be £5 more expensive than those bought before match day.

The advice therefore is to book ahead, saving you money and offering the best choice of seats.

The club is now entering the crucial final week, with another busy sales period expected on the back of TV advertising, pre-match publicity and a raft of marketing around the region.

Be a part of this historic day, which comes on a weekend when there is no Premier League or Championship football.
