New 1877 Bar set to open on Sunday

Friday 16 September 2016 Written by: Adam

Situated on the first floor of the East Stand next door to the Tap & Tackle, the official opening will take place at 1.30pm as the Falcons unveil what they believe to be the best bar in club rugby.

Named after the year the club was founded, the 1877 Bar will be decked out in club memorabilia but is designed with a modern feel.

Open to all supporters with a valid match ticket, there will be a special drinks offer for Falcons season ticket members for Sunday’s game.

Season ticket members will get a 10% discount on all drinks between 1.30pm and the 3pm kick-off upon production of their season card. This discount is on top of the club’s happy-hour promotions.

Non-season ticket members can also benefit from happy-hour prices, which will see 10% off draught-only between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, then again from 4.45pm to 7.45pm as Newcastle Thunder rugby league play their League 1 Shield final against North Wales Crusaders at 5.15pm.

Prior to the Falcons game the 1877 Bar will host a Q&A with director of rugby Dean Richards, while a selection of Falcons players will be available for photos and autographs.

BT Sport will present their post-match analysis from their outside broadcast desk within the new bar, Falcons managing director Mick Hogan saying: “The 1877 Bar is just part of our ongoing work to the stadium, and once again shows our commitment to improving the match-day experience for our supporters.

“We believe we have the best supporter bars in club rugby and we look forward to everyone enjoying our new 1877 Bar at Sunday’s game.”
