NEWCASTLE FALCONS CUMBRIA DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
As part of the clubs growing network of staff, we are seeking to appoint a Cumbria Development Officer for the 2013/14 season. Based in Cumbria, the successful applicant will work closely with the Community Foundation and Academy to deliver a wide range of programmes to players and coaches across Cumbria.

NEWCASTLE FALCONS CUMBRIA DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
**Reports to**: DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (WITH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO ACADEMY MANAGER)
**Purpose of Role:**
To engage with the rugby community in Cumbria, providing both grassroots coaching and support with the Community Foundation as well as identifying and developing talented players towards the Newcastle Falcons Academy
**Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:**
Deliver grassroots coaching programmes and festivals to primary schools, secondary schools and other groups within Cumbria (including adult touch rugby)
Organise, promote and deliver coaching camps and clinics during school holidays for young players in Cumbria
Organise, promote and deliver a CPD programme for coaches, teachers and volunteers in Cumbria
Develop a scouting network across Cumbria for the Falcons Academy, including attending regular games to identify and confirm talented players
Deliver coaching sessions at the Falcons Academy South Cumbria Satellite Centre in conjunction with other coaches on a weekly basis
Attend all Cumbria Excel Camps (or equivalent) and have a presence within representative rugby, including coaching/mentoring at district and county training and games
Promote Newcastle Falcons across Cumbria, ensuring the rugby community are kept up to date with activities and progress within the club
Work in conjunction with the Cumbria Rugby Development Team to deliver a wide range of high quality activities to a wide range of people, meeting multiple objectives
Act as a first point of contact for anyone wanting to find out about Newcastle Falcons, its products or services
**KPI’s:**
• Achieving various Community Foundation targets
• Number of players and coaches attending coaching camps, clinics and CPD sessions
• Identification of players for inclusion within the Newcastle Falcons Academy
• Feedback on quality of experience from stakeholders
**Must have:**
· RFU Level 2 Coaching Award
· Experience of coaching rugby to a wide variety of ages and ability levels
· Experience of working in a dynamic team environment
· Knowledge of representative rugby structures
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong promotional skills and the ability to manage own workload
· Ability to create and maintain strong working links and relationships
· Ability to work to a flexible schedule
· Ability to work as part of a team and meet organisational demands
· Self-motivated, organised, enthusiastic and honest personal attributes
· Ability to make decisions and use own initiative
· Current UK Driving License
· Ownership of a car
Fixed one year full time contract (contract extension dependant on funding)
