**Are you…**

· Looking for work but not getting anywhere?

· Looking for an apprenticeship but don’t have the necessary qualifications?

· Interested in sport, but not sure how to take it further?

Then Hitz could be for you!!

**What is Hitz?**

Newcastle Falcons Hitz project is a study programme that aims to re-engage young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) using sport as its vehicle. The ethos of the programme is based around Rugby’s core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship and all young people entering the programme will be expected to embody these values. We offer young people the chance to gain nationally recognised qualifications and to experience life at the centre of a top level sports club, engaging with professional players and coaches – as they train, play and eat!

**Who is Hitz for?**

Hitz is for young people aged 16-18 who have an interest in sport, not necessarily Rugby. There is no minimum qualification level to join Hitz and we are interested in engaging learners from all backgrounds.

**What will I learn?**

All learners will explore the sport and leisure industry and learn skills that will make them more employable in that sector and in the wider jobs market. The course will involve a high proportion of practical learning with young people gaining experience in a range of sports and sporting environments.

**What qualifications will I get?**

Rathbone UK Tutors will guide Learners to work towards Level 1 or 2 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure and relevant Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications. Learners will also be able to undertake a range of sport specific and personal development qualifications.

**How long is the course?**

The course operates on a roll-on roll-off basis and each learner will complete the course in their own time, they must complete 540 learning hours to finish the course. Learning will take place 4 days a week at Kingston Park Stadium or at appropriate venues within the local area.

**Does the course cost anything?**

No, the course is free for 16-18 year olds.

**Are bursaries available?**

Yes, all learners can claim help towards travel. Learners in receipt of certain benefits may receive a higher rate bursary.

**How can I find out more?**
