NEWCASTLE FALCONS U18 SQUAD NAMED FOR SAINTS CLASH
Hosting the match in Cumbria is part of the Falcons’ plans to help grow the game in the county, with Penrith RFC and Cumbria RFC the two Cumbrian ‘focus groups’ which the club are working closely with this year to help raise interest in grassroots rugby. Earlier this season the Falcons ‘A’ team entertained Worcester Cavaliers at Carlisle and now it is the turn of Penrith to host an academy showpiece.
Academy manager Mark Laycock said: “We have played at Darlington, Middlesbrough, Blaydon, Carlisle and Northern so far this season and the hospitality we have received has always been outstanding.
“We are very much looking forward to playing at Penrith where Mark Wilson played his junior rugby as a kid. There are some exciting young players involved and if any of the previous games are anything to go by, this one should be a great spectacle.”
Entry is free of charge and all local rugby fans are encouraged to come along and support the stars of the future.
