Newcastle’s Rugby World Cup Fanzone opens a week on Sunday with schools and clubs now invited to attend a number of open events.
With the 2015 Rugby World Cup starting tomorrow the Falcons Community Foundation is inviting local rugby clubs and schools to get involved in the biggest two weeks of rugby the North East has ever seen.
In just over one week Newcastle’s Rugby World Cup Fanzone will open its doors at Science Central near to Rugby World Cup venue St James’ Park.
Amongst the many events on offer at the Fanzone will be a range of festivals and events aimed specifically at junior rugby teams and offering them the opportunity to play as part of the festivities in front of rugby fans from across the world.
With events available for everyone from Under 7 to University level, as well as the opportunity To Pitch Up & Play at the Fanzone, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved.

Meanwhile the Fanzone will also be hosting Pitch Up & Play sessions on Saturday 3rd Oct (evening), Friday 9th Oct (evening), Saturday 10th Oct (morning and evening) and Sunday 11th Oct (evening).
Pitch Up & Play does not need to be booked in advance, with teams welcome to simply pitch up at the Fanzone and play a game of rugby, although anyone interested in more information is advised to email the address above.
Finally, the Fanzone pitch will play host to a number of private events, including festivals related to the Falcons Community Foundation’s On The Front Foot, Discover Rugby and Supporter To Reporter programmes which have been running in Newcastle schools over recent months.
