Newcastle Falcons name an unchanged starting XV for tomorrow’s RFU Championship play-off final second leg clash with Bedford Blues at Kingston Park (kick-off 7.45pm).
On the bench Matt Thompson replaces Michael Mayhew as the Falcons look to secure their place in the Aviva Premiership.
Nine points up from the first leg following last Thursday’s 18-9 triumph over Bedford at Goldington Road, Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards insists the tie is far from over.
He said: “Nine points is nothing. Last season against London Welsh in the semi-final they went something like 17 points down and came right back to only lose by a few, so they are a capable side and can play a good brand of rugby.”
Tomorrow night sees the Falcons lock horns with Bedford for the fifth time this campaign with Richards’ men claiming victory in all four previous meetings.
“Bedford can certainly surprise us, and if I had lost to a team four times in the same season I would be looking to throw something different in there,” said Richards.
He added: “I have no doubt they will do that, and I don’t think they will start with Myles Dorrian at fly-half.
“I would expect them to change things and go with Jake Sharp, and in that respect he would bring something different to their side.
“There might be a couple of other changes, and the game is certainly not done.”
With a bumper crowd expected for the match, Richards told Falcons TV: “When Kingston Park is packed it is a difficult place for visiting teams to play, and we want as many fans as possible to come and watch what promises to be an exciting game.
“The game is included in the Season Ticket Package which is great.”
