North of England Select name squads for Military vs Cancer fixture
The North of England Select have named both their men’s and women’s squads ahead of their upcoming clash with the Armed Forces RFC at Kingston Park.
Raising funds for the fantastic Military vs Cancer charity, the double-header takes place on Saturday June 22, with the women’s fixture kick-starting the event at 1pm.
Military vs Cancer brings all three military services, industry and businesses together to support people battling cancer to live their best life.
Coached by the legendary Rob Vickers, the men’s squad includes several names from Championship outfit Caldy RFC as well as a former Falcons academy player, Charlie Smith.
In the first fixture of its kind, the women’s squad includes an abundance of talent from regional clubs including Novastrians RFC, Bishop Auckland and West Park Leeds and is being coached by Red Roses royalty in Tamara Taylor.
Taylor has earned over 100 international caps and was part of the 2014 World Cup winning squad.
The Armed Forces RFC are still yet to name their squads but will includes the best players from the Royal Navy, Army and RAF.
Tickets for the double-header are available for just £15 for adults and £5 for U16s. Stadium car parking is also available to purchase in advance for £10.
Admission is FREE to all current and former service personnel and can be claimed through ‘Ticket for Troops’.
