Alan Dickens joined Newcastle Falcons as senior coach in the summer of 2024.

A scrum-half in his playing days, Dickens featured for Sale Sharks, Leeds Carnegie, Saracens and Northampton Saints.

Graduating into coaching, his decade with Northampton included roles involving the Saints’ attack, defence and academy during a period in which the East Midlands club tasted Premiership glory.

Dickens was even interim head coach for a time with Northampton before spending four seasons as head coach of England Under-20s, and has also been part of England Saxons’ coaching set-up.

Joining Leicester Tigers as backs and attack coach for the 2023-24 season, Dickens headed to the North East in July 2024, overseeing both attack and defence.
