Premiership Preview – Leicester
Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons will both look avenge narrow Aviva Premiership Rugby loses on Friday evening, when they clash at Kingston Park under the Friday Night Lights.
Taking place in front of the BT Sport cameras, the 40th meeting between the two sides in the competition will see the Falcons look to continue a fine run of home form that has seen them take four consecutive wins across the Aviva Premiership and European Rugby Challenge Cup.
The two teams are well acquainted this season, having already played each other home and away in the Kings of the North Cup back in autumn 2015 and at Welford Road in the Aviva Premiership on Boxing Day.
In that game, the first Aviva Premiership Rugby start of fly half Craig Willis, the Falcons tested the Tigers in every department in a performance that laid the foundations for wins over Bath and Harlequins.
Friday’s game will see the Falcons look to make it five wins from five home games in all competitions, with European Rugby Challenge Cup against Brive and Connacht supplementing the wins in the Aviva Premiership.
In last season’s outing at Kingston Park, a close encounter saw the Falcons claim a bonus point, after a converted try from Tommy Bell secured a four point win for the Tigers.
Kicking off at 19:45, tickets are still available for the game with advanced pricing starting at £15 for adult standing and £25 for adult seating.
