Premiership Rugby 7s heads to Northampton
The Premiership Rugby 7s will return to Franklins Gardens this summer as the stadium plays host to the series for the second year running.
Chosen as the venue for the first ‘Olympic-style’ version of the tournament last season, the home Northampton Saints will become the backdrop of the tournament for the next two years, starting with this summer’s competition on 27 and 28 July.
Newcastle Falcons will aim to go one better than last season after making their way into the final of the main competition and lift the trophy which they won back in 2011.

With all 12 Premiership Rugby sides facing off over the Friday evening and Saturday, there’s plenty to see on the pitch as the next generation of rugby stars compete for the title.
But rugby isn’t the only attraction over the weekend with the stadium set to become a hub of activity, opening its gates from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, and 12.30pm to 5pm on Saturday.
On Friday night a party atmosphere will be provided with live music, Bandaoke and special Pie and a Pint* ticket bundles all alongside the start of an exciting two days of rugby.
A family feeling takes over on Saturday, with a bouncy castle and face painting to be found in the Supporter Village, a Crabbie’s touch tournament providing fun on the back pitches and fancy dress is both welcomed and encouraged – with prizes up for grabs for the most outrageous outfits.
