The Falcons Community Foundation will be rounding off a successful season of match day activity with their final festival of the season at Kingston Park Stadium on Saturday 16th May as Newcastle Falcons prepare to face Harlequins.

The Under 10s 7s festival was originally planned to take place before the Sale Sharks game on 1st February, but had to be re-arranged due to bad weather.

However the festival is back, with nearly twenty teams prepared for what will promises to be a fantastic day of summer rugby on Kingston Park’s main and West pitches.

Alongside the Under 10s festival, the day will see the Community Foundation host its schools festival as a culmination of the various schools’ projects that have been running throughout the season. These will include:

The Vantec Tag Rugby Festival, with give schools from Sunderland who have taken part in the Vantec Tag Rugby Schools Programme

The final cohort of Something to Chew On schools from the North Tyneside area holding their festival at the stadium

The Greggs Tackling Health Programme, which is playing host to five schools from across the North East and Cumbria who participated in the healthy eating and rugby programme

The Port of Tyne Tag Rugby Programme, which has been taking place throughout South Shields

The winners of each school programme will play one another at half time during the Falcons’ game later on that afternoon.

All participants will receive a free goodie bag for taking part as well as gingerbread and water supplied by Greggs for all festival participants!

Meanwhile representatives from each of the sponsoring companies will also be on hand to present trophies to the successful teams in their own festivals.

The Aviva Premiership game between Newcastle Falcons and Harlequins will kick off at 3.30 that afternoon, offering a whole day of fun for aspiring rugby stars and their families!
