Thursday 09 May 2013 Written by: Adam

This Sunday the Falcons take on Leeds Carnegie in the second leg of their Championship play-off semi final fixture.

Nexus, which owns, manages and is modernising the Metro system, has informed the club of some Metro disruptions which will be in place on Sunday and could cause delays to fans who are travelling to the game from south of the Tyne.

Metro services between Monument and Heworth will be suspended for important modernisation work from the start of the day‘s timetable on Sunday until approximately 12.30pm.

A bus replacement service will be running to all stations during this time, but fans arriving at Newcastle Central Station to travel onto Kingston Park for the Falcons game will also be able to board a Metro from the nearby Monument Metro station.

Metro services from the coast and between Monument and Newcastle Airport will be running as normal for fans travelling into Kingston Park for the game.

Fans travelling to the game, which kicks off at 1.15pm, on the Metro system are encouraged to leave home early and allow extra time for their journey to Kingston Park.

For further information on the planned modernisation works, including a timetable for the bus replacement service, please visit the Nexus website at http://www.nexus.org.uk/.

Tickets for Sunday’s game are still available here, by calling the Falcons 24 hour ticket hotline on 0871 226 6060, in person from the Kingston Park club shop or by. visiting the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre in Central Arcade, Newcastle.
