Record setting Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup
Success was not limited to on pitch last Sunday for Newcastle Falcons, as Kingston Park played host to the largest ever Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup.
With 70 teams in attendance, the 2016 edition of the Newcastle Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup was held across the main and west pitches of Kingston Park as well as the adjacent Bullocksteads Sports Ground.
With 35 teams in the U11 and the U12 festival, participants enjoyed a jam packed day of great rugby activity.
At the end of the day, the teams from Northern RFC claimed the opportunities to win places in the Parade of Champions at Twickenham, while the Newcastle Falcons Spirit of Rugby Awards, which recognised a team displaying the core attributes of rugby union- sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork, were awarded to Kendal U12 and Yarm U11.
With an overwhelming amount of positive feedback received from the day, the Falcons Community Foundation are already looking forward to the 2017 tournament and would like to thank all the clubs who entered teams in the two age groups who are,
