Region-wide reach for Player Blitz 2016
Fresh from taking an impressive 13-18 Aviva Premiership win against Gloucester Rugby, members of the Newcastle Falcons hit the road last Sunday to visit 17 members of the Falcons Community Foundation’s club connections programme.
The annual Player Blitz sees members of the Falcons team head out en mass to club members and undertake a wide array of engagements with junior club members alongside question and answer sessions with the wider club membership.
Sunday’s Blitz saw Falcons players interact with over 1700 junior players, with all combining to create a fantastic atmosphere at all host clubs.
Part of the Falcons Community Foundation’s Club Connections programme, which is designed to foster closer relations between the Aviva Premiership club and the region’s grassroots community, the Blitz Is the first event of the season that takes members of the squad out to these clubs.
With over 55 clubs part of the programme, Club Connections sees members entitled to a range of exclusive opportunities in recognition of their efforts in helping the Falcons spread the word of Aviva Premiership Rugby.
These include player visit to the clubs in addition to the Blitz, four tickets and signed Falcons items to use in raffles and auctions each season, a minimum of three club development nights and priority booking on festivals at Kingston Park.
