This five day intensive camp, which will be held at Barnard Castle school for the sixth consecutive year, is increasingly popular with both local youngsters and aspiring players from abroad who fly to the UK to participate.

Run in conjunction with Leeds Carnegie, the camp features a host of guest appearances throughout the week from both Falcons and Carnegie players, alongside five days of intensive rugby coaching plus food and accommodation.

Melanie Magee, director of the Falcons Community Foundation said: “The Barnard Castle coaching camp has always been a popular event and has grown substantially since it first began.

“Over recent years we’ve started to see youngsters coming to the camp from not only the North of England but also from as far afield as Paris, Belgium and Italy, which is a great compliment!”

This year a record 175 youngsters will also enjoy pre-planned evening activities and a presentation day to celebrate what the Community Foundation hope will be their most successful event yet.

The Falcons Community Foundation are operating a waiting list for this year’s Barnard Castle residential camp. Please contact 0191 214 2866 if you would like to be notified of any places that become available.

Although this year’s residential camp is fully booked, places are still available on the Falcons Community Foundation’s other summer coaching camps which will be held throughout the region running from 10am to 3pm on specified days.
