RICHARDS EYES WASPS FESTIVE BLOCKBUSTER
The Falcons entertain London Wasps in less than a week’s time, and is a timely fixture after succumbing to a 16-3 defeat in Devon.
And with tickets flying out of the Club Shop for the visit of Dai Young’s Wasps, it promises to be a Christmas cracker.
Richards’ message is simple, come and enjoy top class rugby and spur the North East club on to victory.
“It’s going to be a massive two weeks for us, starting with the Wasps game on Friday, and I can’t wait,” said Richards.
“The festive season is always a busy time for Premiership rugby, and what better way to continue the festivities than to come to Kingston Park and cheer the lads on,” he added.
Reflecting on his team’s display at Exeter, the Falcons boss admits they need to work on their execution if they are to move up the Premiership table.
He said: “Second half we didn’t get our lineouts sorted and as a result we ended up losing. Our lineouts were poor, there is no hiding place in the Premiership – it is not the PRO12 or even the Top 14 or even the Championship – so if you don’t sort your first phase out then you’ll struggle.
“It was always on that we could come back but we needed to play in the right areas of the field. We found it difficult to get the ball and then play in the right areas.
“When you have a howling gale behind you that is what it’s all about. They did well in the first half and we didn’t do well in the second half.
“But the big thing for me was not getting our first phase right and executing things as well as we should have.”
Now the focus turns to the Wasps clash on Friday 27 December with tickets still available by calling the Falcons Ticket Hotline on 0871 226 6060 or [click here][1] to purchase online.
