Rubiolo in summer switch to Bristol
Newcastle Falcons can confirm that Argentina lock Pedro Rubiolo will leave the club at the end of the season to join Bristol Bears.
The 21-year-old has made 21 appearances and scored one try since joining the Falcons just under two years ago, and will depart with the thanks and best wishes of everybody at the club following the culmination of the 2024-25 campaign.
Director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “Pedro arrived in Newcastle as a teenager who had not played a single game of professional club rugby. Two years later he’s a 20-cap international and a regular starter for a tier-one nation.
“I’ve only worked with him for a relatively short period of time due to his shoulder injury last season and his international commitments during the current campaign, but he is a great advert for what players can achieve when they join Newcastle Falcons.
“Obviously it’s disappointing for us to lose a quality player, but Pedro is an outstanding professional and I know he will give absolutely everything for this club between now and the end of the season.”
