Rugby royalty confirmed for Newcastle Thunder Sportsman’s Dinner
Rugby royalty will be the special guest at Kingston Park Stadium this summer, as Newcastle Falcons sister club Newcastle Thunder host a special sportsman’s dinner on Saturday 30th June.
Jason Robinson OBE will be the headline attraction at an event that will raise funds for the club’s academy teams, with a question and answer session with the dual-code great, a three-course meal, stand up comedian and further entertainment all on offer.
The try-scoring hero for England in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final, enjoyed a glittering career in both codes of the game, going on to earn 51 caps in the shirt of the red rose and lifting the Guinness Premiership title in season 2005/06 with Sale Sharks.
Robinson was also a star in rugby league over an eight-year career that saw him make over 300 appearances for Wigan Warriors, win Super League’s first ever grand final and earn 19 international caps for England and Great Britain.
With a glittering record in both codes from which to regale guests with stories from, it is an evening that promises to offer insight into one of the great names of the game, while raising valuable funds to develop the next wave of North East rugby league talent.
Priced at £48 inc VAT per person, tickets are available to book by contacting Thunder’s partnerships manager Amy Kirsopp on 0191 214 2835 or by emailing amy.kirsopp@newcastle-thunder.co.uk
