Saints up next at Kingston Park Stadium

With cup action having dominated the early-year schedule, the visit of Jim Mallinder’s side comes as Dean Richards’ men find themselves firmly involved in a five-team battle over positions five to nine in the Aviva Premiership table, the game also offering an opportunity to record a first league double of the year.

After beating the Saints 22-16 at Franklin’s Gardens back in November, a home victory would see the Falcons make it three Aviva Premiership wins over Northampton in a row, having also taken the spoils at Kingston Park back in February 2016 in a thrilling 26-25 victory.

With the Falcons Community Foundation hosting this season’s Land Rover Cup pre-match, advanced ticket sales are already past the 5,000 mark, with supporters urged to book early to guarantee being able to watch from their preferred vantage point.

With wins at Kingston Park recorded over Bath, Bristol, Harlequins and Sale already this season, references to the ground being a fortress are once again being made, and it is a theme that has been adopted in the promotional material with Canadian international Evan Olmstead the poster star.
